A pair of small lidded tureens, in Chinese export porcelain, 18th century, known as the Service of King John VI or the Peacock Service. Decorated with rich famille rose enamels, the center features a landscape with rocks, peacocks, and peonies, and the rim has a frieze of plant elements. The handles and lid knob are in the form of a "rocaille" element. Qianlong reign (1736–1795).
