ABOUT US

Miguel Arruda Antiques & Design
What defines us is not just the accumulated experience, but how we live it: four members of the same family — two generations — who think, decide, and build a common project with clarity of purpose and intergenerational harmony.
The leadership of Miguel Arruda, an antique dealer with over 40 years of experience, laid the foundation for a company that has grown in reputation and standards.
Ana Paula Arruda brought a consistent curatorial vision, expressed in her constant presence in the interior environments and in the design of the exhibition spaces.
The next generation contributed new tools and sensibilities: Miguel Maria Arruda, with a background in administration, promoted the integration of modern and contemporary pieces, broadening the spectrum of antiques to include design and current trends. Ana Arruda, with an artistic flair and refined aesthetic sense, enriched the curatorial approach with a cross-disciplinary vision.
This family-oriented group is supported by a close, discreet, and competent team that takes the logistical, documentary, and operational aspects of the gallery seriously. They are part of the family.
More than a company, we cultivate a way of being: we enter people's lives through the pieces we rescue and recommend — objects that are not just decorative, but that define habitable spaces, with memory, materiality, and meaning.
Mission and Vision
Mission
Miguel Arruda Antiques & Design exists to showcase, value, and reinterpret pieces that carry with them time, memory, and presence. Its purpose is to build bridges between cultural heritage and contemporary experiences, promoting a coherent coexistence between the past and the present.
Each object is integrated into a curatorial journey attentive to detail, underpinned by profound knowledge, demanding criteria, and respect for its context of origin. The gallery's work is based on clarity of process, historical sensitivity, and attention to the relationships that are created between pieces, spaces, and people—always with the conviction that beauty is a form of truth.
More than just gathering or exhibiting, the gallery proposes ways of being: environments where gesture, matter, and history dialogue, and where the gaze upon objects transforms into relationship. It is believed here that the pieces are not limited to occupying space—they participate in, interpret, and accompany the construction of a time lived with meaning and beauty.
Vision
To be a unique reference in the way we think about, present, and interact with objects that have a history — promoting a new visual culture where time does not separate, but connects; where past and present coexist with depth, beauty, and meaning.
Miguel Arruda Antiques & Design aims to contribute to a more conscious and discerning approach to inhabited spaces, recognizing in antique objects not only heritage value, but also presence, memory, and continuity.
