A lidded tureen in Chinese porcelain from the East India Company, 18th century, known as the Service of King John VI or the Peacock Service. Decorated with rich enamels in famille rose tones, the center features a landscape with rocks, peacocks, and peonies, and the rim features a frieze of plant motifs. The handles and knob of the lid are in the form of a "rocaille" element. Qianlong reign (1736–1795).
