Pair of Portuguese silver candlesticks, Porto (eagle mark 833, 1938–1984), by Manuel Alcino (1935–1987)
A pair of Portuguese silver candlesticks, Porto (eagle mark 833, 1938–1984), by Manuel Alcino (1935–1987). Turned shafts and pierced cups rest on a circular base. The style recalls the Portuguese Art Deco/National design of the 1950s–60s, evident in the formal purity and meticulous finish, with pearlescent frieze motifs discreetly integrated into the set—typical of Porto goldsmithing of that period. Representing the technical virtuosity and aesthetic taste of Manuel Alcino's workshop, these candlesticks combine functionality and elegance, adapting to both classic and contemporary interiors. Marked with the Porto "Águi 33" hallmark and the Goldsmith's hallmark of the same period.
