French Guéridon, 18th century, in various woods and marble top

An 18th-century French guéridon in exotic wood with geometric marquetry inlays featuring a three-dimensional effect—a classic pattern of cubes in perspective. The circular top in black veined marble is surrounded by a wooden frame, and the structure rests on four tapered legs with gilded bronze applications. It includes a drawer discreetly built into the frame. The feet are on casters. An elegant and refined piece, representative of the transition between rocaille and French neoclassicism.
