Italian painted and marbled chest of drawers with three drawers and wooden top, 18th century

Painted and marbled wood chest of drawers with a wavy structure and a front with four vertical sections, and three large drawers. Polychrome decoration in shades of green and beige, with central panels painted to imitate marble and frames outlined in red. The projecting top, decorated with a recess, features sinuous lines and marble. Chamfered corners end in curved legs, finished with short rocaille-inspired scrolls. Metal hardware with cut-out handles and mirrors.

Era / Note
The chest of drawers belongs to the Italian production of the 18th century, reflecting the provincial rocaille aesthetic with a vibrant chromatic language and a sense of theatricality. The use of faux-marble painting, common in furniture from northern and central Italy, aims to simulate noble materials and enhance the piece's symbolic and decorative value. A representative example of 18th-century Italian furniture, it combines functionality with Baroque theatricality and painted decorative arts.
